Torture has been institutionalized in the US, courtesy of the former and current administrations.
But unless, and until, there is a real, genuine investigation and prosecution of those at the top of the Bush administration who thought torture was "the right thing" for American intelligence operatives to do, this country will never get its moral compass back.
