Cali. Cop Blames Dead Dog On Owner In Strange Facebook Rant

Cali. Cop Blames Dead Dog On Owner In Strange Facebook RantSecrets of the Fed – by Mikael Thalen
A California police officer reportedly from the same department as the cop who fatally shot a man’s dog this week, defended the officer’s actions by blaming the dog’s death on its owner in a strange Facebook post Wednesday.
Last Sunday, 52-year-old Leon Rosby was arrested while trying to film an armed robbery SWAT barricade in Hawthorne, California, in what he says was an attempt to keep the police accountable.
“They had asked me why am I there and I said I was filming them so that no one’s civil rights were being violated,” said Rosby to NBC4.
Officers claimed Rosby was disturbing the active crime scene by filming and playing music too loud from his vehicle which was parked half a block away on a side street.
A bystander recording cell phone video captured police ordering Rosby to put his dog in his car. Rosby placed his Rottweiler in the backseat and immediately approached police while putting his hands behind his back, following police orders.
As police began handcuffing Rosby, his dog Max jumped out of the car’s window and approached police. One officer then fired four shots at Max as he jumped towards them, killing the animal on the spot.
While the department argues that the officer had no choice, others say the officers had no right to detain or arrest Rosby in the first place, given the first amendment right to film the police, making the officer responsible for the death.
Rosby spent a night in jail on suspicion of obstruction and was released Monday morning.  Rosby, who filed a lawsuit against the department last July after police beat him according to Rosby’s lawyer, says the police have been after him ever since.
The Hawthorne Police Department has since pulled three police officers from street duty after they began receiving death threats according to police.
Following a massive backlash from citizens, one Hawthorne officer took it upon himself to inform the department’s critics of his feelings toward the incident in a strange, nearly incoherent, Facebook rant.
“One of the best departments in the state one on looker with no business being there, if he wouldn’t have stopped but with his oen agenda wanting to record a mistake by the HPD and there was none cost him his dog,” said Officer Vasquez.
The few of you out there that don’t trust your police move.”
Vasquez went on to call for Rosby’s prosecution, claiming Rosby should be charged for the death of his own dog.
Want to blame someone blame the dog owner for not minding his own business and putting himself and the officers in harms way, he should be prosecuted to the fullest letter of the law including the death of his pet,” said Vasquez.
COP TALK FINAL
Officer Vasquez has since disabled his Facebook account.
